Where Data Ends

Where Data Ends

“The best way to predict the future is to create it.”
Peter Drucker’s line, from an X post, left me with a thought.
The new me viewed it differently.
Then the Rig Veda whispered,
“Before all this…
there was neither being nor non-being.”
No stars.
No time.
No memory.
No data.
No dataset for an AI to train upon.
No patterns to recognize.
No probabilities to compute.
No “next token” waiting to be predicted.
Only silence.
And from that silence, creation.
Today we celebrate machines that can predict tomorrow.
They read yesterday’s footprints,
connect invisible dots,
and tell us where the road may lead.
They are magnificent.
Yet they cannot answer the oldest question ever asked:
Who took the first step
when there were no footprints?
The Nasadiya Sukta smiles.
Even the gods, it says, came after creation.
Who knows?
Perhaps the Creator…
Perhaps not.
That humility is older than every philosophy,
older than every religion,
older than every algorithm.
AI predicts because data remembers.
Humans create because imagination remembers
what has never existed.
Every dawn the universe writes a blank page.
AI can suggest the most probable sentence.
Only a conscious heart can write the unforgettable one.
So let AI predict tomorrow.
Let us create a tomorrow worth predicting.
