A poem about all the wisdom the tradition has preserved, and the one thing it cannot do for you.

This poem was born at that threshold — the cry of an exhausted explorer who finally sees that the map is not the territory, and who is ready to stop reading the menu and become the meal. The sages have held the door open with infinite patience. But the walking through it is yours alone. And here lies the final irony: everyone showed the path, yet everyone is waiting for the system to change.

எல்லோரும் வழியைக் காட்டினர்;

I have spent lifetimes wandering through ink and paper, searching with a heart so open it ached. Shelf after shelf, sacred verse after sacred verse, luminous name after luminous name. And then, like the sudden break of dawn, the radiant truth washed over me: they were all calling me home to the very same light. Every sage, every page, every ancient voice was simply a different chord of the exact same timeless song.

The Vedas thundered the grand design. The Upanishads whispered the quiet secret within. The Gita sang of selfless devotion and presence. Tulsidas wept with pure reverence. Shankara illuminated the path with crystalline clarity. Kabir brought the sacred alive in the dusty joy of the marketplace. And Ramana—Ramana simply sat in the radiant stillness of being, a silence so luminous that it gently dissolved every library I had stacked inside my mind.

For years, I believed the journey was about accumulating more: one more commentary, one more master, one more golden insight to hold onto. That wandering was not wasted; it was a tender, holy preparation of the spirit. But the map is not the territory, and the menu will never nourish the hungry heart.

This expression was born at that sacred threshold—the gentle sigh of a long-wandering explorer who is finally ready to set down the compass, step beyond the words, and taste the reality itself.

The sages have stood through the ages, holding the doorway open with infinite patience and unconditional grace. Yet they cannot cross it for us; that sovereign, beautiful step belongs to you alone. The world around us endlessly waits for external systems, institutions, and circumstances to transform before daring to awaken. But the invitation has always been immediate, quiet, and inward: to stop waiting for the world to change, walk boldly through the open door, and let your own presence become the light.
