When its love everywhere,
and the hearts of people yearned for simplicity,
Thirugnana Sambandar sang, as a child touched by the Divine,
“Bhakti alone is enough. Sing. Cry. Surrender.
Truth will come running to you.”
When the land overflowed with wisdom,
and Jñāna (knowledge) was the currency of truth,
Adi Shankara arose—an intellectual titan—
who distilled the Upanishads into oneness.
In an age of clarity and learning,
he said: “Know the Self, and be free.”
When the land was fractured by foreign rule,
by swords of difference and laws of greed,
Ramanuja stepped forward—
his arms open, heart vast—
saying: “Love the Divine and love each other; this too is liberation.”

Bhakti. Jñāna. Prema.
Three rays of the same sun.
Each arose when the land needed them most.
Each led the soul back to the source
